The quit smoking app that never takes away what you earned.

Unlit is a quit smoking tracker for iPhone. Quit cold turkey on a date you choose, or taper down over two to eight weeks — your choice, and you can change your mind without losing your history. When a craving hits, a three-minute guided session gives you something to do while it passes. Your smoke-free days, cigarettes avoided and money saved add up in one place. No account, no analytics, and it works with no signal at all.

Two ways to quit
Cold turkey on a date you pick, or a generated two-to-eight-week taper that steps you down to a hard quit date. Switch later, keep your history.
Your totals are permanent
After a slip, the current streak begins again and nothing else is removed. Lifetime cigarettes avoided, money saved, smoke-free days and every milestone stay yours.
Private by design
No account, no sign-in, no analytics, no server of ours. Everything lives on your iPhone and works in airplane mode.

How the quit smoking tracker works

Three steps from "I want to stop" to a running count of everything you have gained. Setup takes a few minutes and happens entirely on your phone.

01

Pick your path and your date

Tell Unlit how much you smoke, what a pack costs and how long you have smoked. Then choose: quit cold turkey now or on a future date, or let Unlit build you a step-down taper of two to eight weeks.

02

Write your own three reasons

Not a list of a hundred generic ones. You write three, in your own words, and you can attach a photo from your library to each. These are what you see when a craving hits — because your reasons work and someone else's don't.

03

Let the totals build

Smoke-free days, cigarettes avoided and money saved update continuously. Health markers unlock as time passes, milestones get earned, and craving logs turn into patterns you can actually plan around.

Built for the days it gets hard.

Quitting is not one decision, it is a few hundred small ones. Unlit is designed around the moments that actually decide whether a quit holds: the craving, the slip, and the week where nothing feels like progress.

01

A craving SOS with a countdown

Three minutes of something to do: a countdown, breathing paced with haptics, your own reasons on screen, and an arc showing how much of the craving is already behind you. It runs as a Live Activity, so it stays on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.

02

A slip costs you the streak, nothing else

Log it, answer one neutral question about what was going on, and you are back on your dashboard. Lifetime cigarettes avoided, lifetime money saved, total smoke-free days and every badge you earned are untouched. You keep what you earned.

03

Cold turkey or a taper you can follow

A generated schedule steps your daily count down week by week to a hard quit date. Change methods later and your history comes with you — the count of what you have already avoided is not erased.

04

Money saved, counted properly

Based on your real cigarettes per day, pack price and pack size, in your own currency. It adds up faster than most people expect, and the total is one of the few things that keeps growing on a bad week.

05

A health timeline that is actually sourced

Each marker shows where it comes from. Unlit follows current CDC and NHS guidance rather than the widely-copied 2004 poster those bodies have since replaced — which means a few of our timings are more conservative than the ones you will see elsewhere.

06

Patterns, widgets and your own words

Craving logs turn into trigger insights. A journal keeps the harder days on record. Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets keep the streak in view. Everything stays on the device — export it whenever you want.

A kinder way to read the numbers

Learn how to separate the current smoke-free streak from lifetime progress, record triggers neutrally, and decide on one useful next step.

Frequently asked questions

What does Unlit do?

Unlit tracks a quit from the moment you set your quit date. It counts your smoke-free streak, the cigarettes you have avoided and the money you have saved, unlocks health markers as time passes, and gives you a three-minute guided session to get through a craving. You can log a craving or a slip in a couple of taps, and Unlit looks for patterns in when and why they happen so you can plan around them.

Do I have to quit cold turkey, or can I cut down gradually?

Either. Unlit supports quitting cold turkey on a date you choose, including a date in the future, and it also supports tapering: you tell it your current daily count and how many weeks you want, and it generates a step-down schedule of two to eight weeks that ends in a hard quit date. You can switch between the two later without losing your history. Most quit-smoking apps force cold turkey and will not accept a future quit date at all.

What happens if I smoke a cigarette after my quit date?

You log it as a slip and Unlit asks one neutral question about what was happening, then takes you back to your dashboard. Your current streak begins again from that point, but nothing else is taken away: lifetime cigarettes avoided, lifetime money saved, total smoke-free days and every milestone you have earned all stay exactly as they were. This is deliberate. You keep what you already earned, because you did earn it.

How does the craving SOS work?

A craving usually peaks and passes in a few minutes, so the SOS gives you something to do for three of them rather than a quote to read. You get a countdown, a breathing animation paced with haptics, the three reasons you wrote in your own words, and an arc showing how much of the craving is already behind you. It runs as a Live Activity too, so it stays visible on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island without keeping the app open.

Does Unlit need an account or an internet connection?

No account, no sign-in, no email address. Unlit has no server of its own, stores everything on your iPhone, and asks for no network permission. Every feature except making a purchase works in airplane mode, permanently and by design — including your subscription status, which is cached on the device. The only service it talks to is RevenueCat, which handles purchases; it never receives your quit record, cravings or journal. See the privacy policy for the full detail.

Will Unlit have free and Pro features?

The planned product includes a free feature set and optional Unlit Pro features. Exact purchase options, trial availability, and local prices will be shown in the App Store when Unlit is released; this site does not state them in advance. See the terms of service for the purchase policy.

Is Unlit medical advice or a treatment?

No. Unlit is a self-tracking tool. It is not medical advice, not a diagnosis and not a smoking cessation treatment, and it is not a substitute for a doctor, a quitline or approved stop-smoking medication. The health timeline is general information drawn from public health bodies including the CDC and the NHS. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or are using nicotine replacement therapy or prescription cessation medication, talk to a clinician.

Is Unlit on the App Store yet?

Not yet. Unlit is listed here as coming soon. Check back for a verified App Store link when it is released.
