Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 15, 2026

Soti is built as a local-first European meal planner. This policy explains what stays on your device, what is handled by Apple and RevenueCat for subscriptions, and how to delete local Soti data.

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy applies to the Soti iOS app, Soti Plus or Pro subscription features, public Soti support pages, and related user support.

Soti helps you plan European dinners from recipes bundled in the app. It asks onboarding questions, chooses a weekly dinner plan, estimates a euro budget, stores favourites, and builds a grouped shopping list. The meal-planning features are designed to work locally on your device. Soti does not create user accounts and does not operate a Soti database for your meal plans.

Soti does not request camera, photo library, microphone, location, contacts, health, or advertising tracking permissions. If you choose weekly reminders, iOS may ask for notification permission.

2. Short Summary

Accounts Soti does not require account creation or login.
Ads and tracking Soti does not show third-party ads, does not use IDFA, and does not track you across apps or websites for advertising.
Local app data Profile name, onboarding answers, meal preferences, chosen supermarket, budget, household size, weekly plan, favourites, shopping state, and onboarding status are stored locally on your device with iOS UserDefaults.
Meal planning Soti uses bundled recipes and local planner logic. It does not send your meal choices or dietary preferences to a Soti server for planning.
Payments Apple processes App Store payments. RevenueCat helps validate purchases, manage entitlements, present subscription screens, restore purchases, and provide subscription status.
Deletion Use Settings > Reset local app data to remove saved Soti planning data from this device and return to onboarding.

3. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

Soti stores the following information locally so the app can work without an account:

  • Profile data, including the first name you enter during onboarding.
  • Meal preferences, including supermarket choice, weekly budget, household size, meal vibes, dietary needs, kitchen appliances, goal, and cooking friction choices.
  • Weekly plan data, including plan ID, planner seed, selected shop ID, budget, generated date, planned days, selected bundled recipes, and estimated costs.
  • Favourite recipe IDs.
  • Shopping list state, including checked item IDs and custom shopping items you add.
  • Onboarding completion status and local planner seed.

Soti uses iOS UserDefaults for this data. If the stored data is empty or cannot be read, Soti falls back to defaults and can show onboarding again.

4. Bundled Recipes, Supermarkets, and Estimates

Soti ships with bundled recipe and supermarket reference data. Store names are used as local preferences to shape estimates and planning. Soti does not claim live integrations with supermarkets, does not fetch live prices, and does not scrape store websites.

Budgets, per-meal costs, nutrition values, recipe matches, dietary filtering, and shopping-list totals are estimates for planning only. They may be wrong or out of date. You should verify prices, labels, allergens, ingredients, and dietary suitability before buying or cooking.

5. Purchases and Subscriptions

Soti Plus or Pro subscription features are handled through Apple in-app purchase and RevenueCat. Apple processes payment through your Apple Account. Soti does not receive your full payment card number.

RevenueCat may process information needed to provide purchases and subscriptions, such as an app user identifier generated by RevenueCat, product identifiers, purchase history, subscription status, entitlement status, renewal status, transaction metadata, device and app information, diagnostics, and similar technical information needed to operate purchase features.

Soti uses RevenueCat to fetch offerings, present paywalls and customer center screens, validate active entitlements, restore purchases, and show subscription status in the app.

6. Notifications

If you choose to enable weekly dinner-planning reminders, iOS asks for notification permission. When granted, Soti schedules a local weekly notification on your device. The reminder content and timing are handled locally by iOS.

You can manage notification permissions in iOS Settings. Soti does not use a push notification server for these reminders.

7. No Soti Backend for Meal Planning

Soti does not send your recipes, favourites, weekly plans, shopping items, name, budget, household size, dietary choices, appliances, or supermarket preference to a Soti meal-planning backend. Soti does not use runtime AI generation, external price fetching, scraping, or authentication for meal planning.

Network activity may still occur for Apple App Store services, RevenueCat subscription services, system services, app review links, mail links, or when you independently contact support.

8. Service Providers and Third Parties

Soti may rely on the following providers:

  • Apple, for the App Store, iOS, Apple Account payments, subscription management, refunds, app review, and device notification permission controls.
  • RevenueCat, for purchase validation, subscription entitlement status, paywall presentation, customer center, restore purchases, and subscription analytics.
  • Email providers, if you contact support by email.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies:

9. Advertising, Sale, and Tracking

Soti does not sell personal information. Soti does not use your meal planning data for third-party advertising and does not track you across apps or websites for advertising.

Soti does not request Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission because the app is not designed to track users across apps or websites owned by other companies.

10. Deletion and Choices

You can control Soti data in these ways:

  • Use Settings > Reset local app data to remove local profile, preferences, plan, favourites, shopping state, onboarding status, and local planner seed from this device.
  • Use Settings > Clear checked shopping items to clear checked shopping items while keeping the rest of your local app data.
  • Delete the app from your device to remove app-local data as handled by iOS.
  • Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account subscription settings.
  • Use Manage subscription or Restore purchases in Soti Settings for RevenueCat and Apple purchase status controls.
  • Manage notification permission in iOS Settings.

Resetting or deleting local Soti data does not cancel an Apple subscription and does not delete Apple's or RevenueCat's purchase records. Apple and RevenueCat may retain purchase and transaction information as required for billing, tax, fraud prevention, support, legal compliance, and subscription operation.

11. Retention

Local Soti planning data remains on your device until you reset it, delete the app, or iOS removes it. Subscription-related information is retained by Apple and RevenueCat according to their policies and legal obligations.

Support emails are retained as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain records, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, and improve support.

12. Security

Soti reduces privacy risk by keeping meal-planning data local and avoiding accounts for meal planning. However, no device, operating system, app, network, or provider can be guaranteed completely secure.

You are responsible for protecting access to your device, Apple Account, backups, and email account.

13. Children

Soti is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required by local law. If you believe a child has sent personal information through support, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

14. Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of certain personal information. Because Soti keeps meal-planning data on your device, most app data controls are available directly in the app or through iOS.

For subscription records processed by Apple or RevenueCat, you may need to use their privacy tools or contact them directly. For support emails or questions about Soti, contact us using the email below.

15. International Processing

If you contact support or use subscription features, Apple, RevenueCat, email providers, and support tools may process information in countries other than your own. Their processing is governed by their own terms, privacy policies, and applicable data transfer mechanisms.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Soti changes, when providers change, or when legal requirements change. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
