Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 24, 2026

TallyNest is a local-first home inventory and upkeep app for iPhone. This policy explains the information the app stores on your device and the limited services involved when you choose TallyNest Pro.

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy applies to the TallyNest iOS app, its in-app support screens, and the public support pages for the app.

TallyNest helps you catalog your homes, the spaces or rooms within them, inventory items, notes, warranty dates, upkeep reminders, and photo or document attachments. The app is built to work without a backend account and keeps your records on your device. TallyNest does not operate a cloud database for your records.

2. Short Summary

Accounts TallyNest does not require account creation or login.
Ads and tracking TallyNest does not show ads, does not use analytics or tracking SDKs, and does not track you across apps or websites.
Local app data Homes, spaces, inventory items, notes, warranty dates, reminders, photo and document attachments, and app settings are stored on your device.
Payments Apple processes App Store payments for TallyNest Pro. RevenueCat helps deliver and restore purchase and entitlement status.
Sharing Data leaves the app only when you use the iOS share sheet or send a support message.

3. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

TallyNest stores your records on your device using Apple's local storage frameworks. This can include:

  • Homes you add, and the spaces or rooms within them.
  • Inventory items, including any names, categories, quantities, values, or other details you enter.
  • Notes you write about a home, space, or item.
  • Warranty dates and other dates you record.
  • Upkeep reminders you create.
  • Photo and document attachments you add to an item or record.
  • App settings and preferences.

If you delete a record in the app, use Settings → Delete all data, or delete the app, iOS normally removes the corresponding local data. Device backups controlled by Apple or your device settings may include local app data.

4. Photos, Documents, and Permissions

Photos and documents are accessed only when you choose to add them to a record. When you add a photo or document, it is saved to the app's private storage on your device.

TallyNest requests camera and photo-library permission only so you can capture or attach photos and documents for those actions. You can change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings. TallyNest does not upload your photos or documents to a server.

5. Local Notifications

If you enable reminders, TallyNest may schedule local notifications on your device for the warranty dates and upkeep reminders you set. These notifications are generated on your device. You can change notification permission in iOS Settings, and TallyNest does not require notifications to use the app.

6. Purchases and Subscriptions

TallyNest may offer TallyNest Pro through Apple in-app purchase. Apple processes the payment transaction. RevenueCat helps deliver and restore your purchase and entitlement status so the app knows whether Pro is active.

RevenueCat may process an app-specific anonymous user identifier, product identifiers, purchase and restore status, and related technical transaction information needed to restore Pro. TallyNest does not receive your full payment card details.

7. Analytics, Advertising, and Sharing

TallyNest contains no advertising, no analytics, no tracking, and no third-party data-broker SDKs. The app does not build an advertising or marketing profile about you.

Data leaves the app only when you choose to share it. When you use the iOS share sheet to export or send an item, record, or backup, the destination you choose controls how that content is handled. When you email support, your message and any attachments you include are sent to us so we can help.

8. Service Providers

Because TallyNest keeps your records on your device, only a small number of providers are involved, and only for the purposes described above:

  • Apple — distributes the app, processes App Store payments, and provides the device storage and notification frameworks the app uses.
  • RevenueCat — delivers and restores purchase and entitlement status for TallyNest Pro.
  • Email and support — when you contact us by email, your message is handled through our email provider so we can respond.

Each provider handles data under its own terms and privacy policy.

9. Security

TallyNest relies on your device's built-in protections, such as your passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, and Apple's app storage model, to help keep your records private. Keeping your device and iOS up to date and using a device passcode helps protect your data.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Data Retention

  • Records you create in TallyNest stay on your device until you delete them in the app or delete the app; device backups you control may retain copies.
  • Support emails and their attachments are kept only as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterward for our records.
  • Subscription status handled by Apple and RevenueCat is retained under their policies for as long as needed to manage your entitlement.

11. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, and EEA)

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region with similar laws, you have rights over your personal data. Because TallyNest is local-first, most of your data stays on your device and is not held by Soldra, so many of these rights are exercised directly on your device by viewing, editing, exporting, or deleting your data in the app or by deleting the app.

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Delete your personal data ("right to erasure").
  • Restrict or object to certain processing of your personal data.
  • Receive your data in a portable format where technically feasible.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

Where Soldra processes limited personal data (for example, support emails or subscription status), our legal bases are: your consent (such as allowing notifications); performance of a contract (providing the app and any subscription you buy); our legitimate interests (operating, securing, and supporting the app); and compliance with legal obligations. To make a request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.

12. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA. TallyNest does not sell or share your personal information, and has not done so in the preceding 12 months. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would require an opt-out.

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information is collected and how it is used.
  • Request access to or deletion of your personal information.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share).
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.

Because TallyNest keeps your records on your device, you can exercise most of these rights directly in the app. For other requests, contact [email protected].

13. Children

TallyNest is not directed to children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

14. International Users

TallyNest is designed to keep your records on your device. If you contact support or make a purchase, limited information (such as your email address or subscription status) may be processed by Soldra or its providers in countries other than where you live. Where required, we take steps so that such processing has an appropriate legal basis.

15. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated when the app, providers, legal requirements, or data practices change. The effective date above shows when this version took effect.

16. Contact
