Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service govern your use of Lumis, including the iOS app, its AI face analysis features, your local plan and progress, Lumis Pro purchases, support pages, and related services.

By downloading, accessing, purchasing, subscribing to, or using Lumis, you agree to these Terms and to the Lumis Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Lumis.

2. App Store Terms

Lumis is distributed through the Apple App Store for iPhone and requires iOS 16 or later. Apps obtained through the App Store are licensed, not sold, and your use may also be subject to the applicable Apple Media Services terms, platform terms, billing terms, and licensed application terms.

Apple is not responsible for providing maintenance or support for Lumis unless its own terms require otherwise. Support requests should be sent to [email protected]. To the extent required by App Store terms, Apple and its subsidiaries may be third-party beneficiaries of the relevant store-related provisions.

3. What Lumis Does

Lumis is an AI face analysis and glow-up coach for iPhone. Depending on the version, Lumis can help you:

• Take a selfie with the front camera or choose a photo, optionally adding a side profile.
• Receive AI scores from 0 to 10 across five categories — jawline, skin, symmetry, eyes, and harmony — plus an overall score and a potential score.
• Follow a personalized rolling 28-day Glow-Up Plan of skincare, body, habit, and face-exercise tasks with daily check-offs and streaks.
• View a progress timeline with score charts and comparisons between scans.
• Turn on an optional local daily reminder notification.
• Store your scans, photos, plan, progress, quiz answers, and settings locally on your device.

4. Eligibility

Lumis is intended for users who are at least 13 years old. Onboarding includes an age gate that blocks users under 13, and the AI also rejects images that appear to be of minors and non-face images. If you use Lumis on behalf of another person, you confirm that you have the authority and consent to do so.

5. Your Content

"Your Content" means content you provide to Lumis, including selfies, side-profile photos, quiz answers, support messages, and any related information you choose to submit.

You keep ownership of Your Content. You give Lumis a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to process, transmit, transform, and store Your Content only as needed to provide, maintain, protect, and support Lumis and the features you choose to use. This includes sending relevant content transiently to Cloudflare and Google Gemini, and sending purchase information to Apple and RevenueCat, as described in the Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for Your Content. Do not submit content unless you have the rights and permissions needed to use it with Lumis and its service providers.

6. AI Results and Generated Output

Lumis uses the Google Gemini API through the Lumis backend to analyze your selfie and generate structured results. AI output can include category scores, an overall score, a potential score, insights, and the tasks that make up your Glow-Up Plan.

AI output is generated automatically and can be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or unsuitable for your circumstances. Scores and insights are AI-generated estimates for entertainment and self-improvement purposes only, and results can vary between scans of the same person. You should treat all scores and insights as estimates, not facts or judgments about your worth or health.

Lumis does not guarantee that generated output is unique. Similar or identical output may be generated for other users or other scans.

7. Not Medical, Dermatological, or Psychological Advice

Lumis does not provide medical, dermatological, or psychological advice. All scores and insights are AI-generated estimates for entertainment and self-improvement purposes only. Lumis is not a diagnostic tool, is not a substitute for professional judgment, and should not be used to diagnose, treat, or make decisions about any skin, health, or psychological condition.

Do not use Lumis for:

• Medical, dermatological, mental-health, or emergency decisions.
• Diagnosing skin conditions, moles, lesions, or other health issues.
• Any decision where an inaccurate score, insight, or recommendation could cause harm.

Consult a dermatologist or doctor for any skin or health concerns. If you are struggling with body image, self-esteem, or mental health, seek support from a qualified professional. AI results can be inaccurate or vary between scans.

8. Scan Quality and User Responsibility

Lumis results depend on image quality, lighting, angle, expression, hair position, and other conditions. You are responsible for choosing appropriate photos and interpreting results reasonably.

• Use good, even lighting and face the camera directly.
• Keep hair off your face and use a neutral expression.
• Do not treat a score or "potential" score as an objective or final measure of appearance.
• Do not rely on Lumis for any health, safety, or professional decision.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Lumis to:

• Use the app if you are under 13, or otherwise violate any law or third-party right.
• Scan photos of other people without their knowledge and consent.
• Upload images or content you do not have the right to use.
• Submit highly sensitive personal, medical, financial, government ID, password, or confidential information.
• Bypass safety guidance, rate limits, free-scan limits, purchase checks, access controls, or provider restrictions.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, attack, overload, disrupt, or misuse Lumis, its backend, or its providers.
• Use generated output to harass, demean, or make harmful claims about yourself or others.

10. Local Storage and Backups

Lumis stores your scans, photos, plan, progress, quiz answers, and settings locally on your device. You are responsible for maintaining your device, backups, and access to your data. Lumis does not provide a cloud account for recovering deleted data.

Using Settings → "Delete All My Data", deleting the app, device failure, operating system behavior, or interrupted storage operations may permanently remove local Lumis data.

11. Lumis Pro, Subscriptions, and Lifetime Purchase

Lumis uses a hard paywall. Your first scan is free; full results and your Glow-Up Plan require Lumis Pro. Lumis Pro is offered through Apple App Store in-app purchase as an auto-renewing monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase.

Exact product names, prices, subscription periods, renewal terms, included features, taxes, and any offer terms are shown in the App Store purchase sheet before you confirm. Prices may vary by storefront, so the prices shown in the app at the time of purchase control.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, according to Apple's rules.
• Your account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID subscription settings.
• Deleting Lumis does not automatically cancel a subscription.
• Refunds, billing issues, family sharing, taxes, payment methods, and store disputes are handled by Apple according to its policies.
• RevenueCat is used to validate purchases, restore purchases, and determine whether Lumis Pro is active.

Lifetime access means access to the eligible Pro features of Lumis for the lifetime of the Lumis app as offered, not to unrelated future apps, separate services, or every future feature.

12. Availability and Changes to Features

Lumis features, scoring, plans, limits, providers, models, and Pro offerings may change over time. AI features depend on network connectivity and third-party services, including Cloudflare, Google Gemini, RevenueCat, and Apple, and may be delayed, unavailable, rate-limited, changed, or discontinued.

13. Privacy

Lumis privacy practices are described in the Privacy Policy. By using AI scan features, you acknowledge that your selfie and scan request information are sent transiently to Lumis backend services and Google Gemini for automated analysis, and that Lumis does not store your photos or request bodies.

14. Intellectual Property

Lumis, including its app design, software, branding, prompts, workflows, and public pages, is owned by Soldra or its developer and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not give you ownership of Lumis.

Subject to these Terms and applicable store terms, you receive a limited, revocable, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use Lumis for personal, non-commercial use.

15. No Warranty

Lumis is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that every scan, score, insight, plan, purchase state, local storage operation, or app behavior will be accurate, uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or suitable for your specific situation.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lumis and its developer are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, opportunities, or value arising from use of or inability to use the app, including reliance on AI-generated scores or insights.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these limits may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.

17. Indemnification

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Soldra and its owners, developers, affiliates, service providers, and licensors from and against any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to your use of Lumis, the content you create or import, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any law or third-party right, or your reliance on any output of Lumis.

18. Changes to These Terms

Lumis features, scoring, limits, providers, models, subscriptions, prices, and legal terms may change over time. These Terms may be updated when the app, purchases, legal requirements, or business practices change. The effective date above shows when this version took effect.
